Chevrolet has released new details concerning the Aveo RS Concept, ahead of the North American International Auto Show.
Basically a preview of the next-generation Aveo, the concept addresses several major criticisms of current model – namely bland styling, a cut-rate interior, and a weak power train.
Starting with the exterior, the Aveo features a large dual element grille, three-dimensional taillights, brushed aluminum accents, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Other design touches include aerodynamic side mirrors with integrated turn signals, hidden rear door handles, and a center-mounted exhaust.
Inside, the Aveo boasts a stylish cabin with black leather upholstery, metallic accents, and blue contrast stitching. Other highlights include an irregular LCD readout (trimmed in milled metal), aluminum-trimmed side vents, and a folding rear seat.
Power comes from the Cruze’s turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec engine, with 138 hp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque. While GM declined to release performance specifications, they stated the engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission.
